Thanks to Emmett from over at SoundTrack.ie for pointing out these free icons from Everaldo Coelho that are up on Wikimedia the other day. They are called the Crystal Clear collection and they really are quite nice. They are available as 128×128 width icons so I’d guess you can scale them down to whatever suits.

My only problem with them is they are slightly too comic but hey free is free and they are great quality.

Are there any other collections out there I should know about ?

Just got the newsletter from Komplett there a few minutes ago and whats one of the first things I see … This bad boy WD Passport with Firewire. Now no doubt others have known about this for a while but its news to me and will I think make a nice edition to the Mac Family .. that quote I read the other day … once you go Mac you can never go back

Well surprise surprise when I upgraded my Word Press install to 2.5.1 I didn’t bother checking if my admin console would work on the back end. (I upgraded it as I wasn’t happy with the version before 2.5.)
This left me stuck … able to log in but not seeing a hell of a lot of my options (CSS bugs and so on galore) … sure I could check the html and find the links to what I needed but this is me…

Anyways after a few minutes of feeling half brain dead I realised I just have to put
wp-admin/plugins.php into my url (once I’m logged in of course) and I can deactivate it from there and hey presto its back to normal .. (well the New Normal at any rate)

Hope that saves someone a few minutes of head scratching. I had been thinking about going into the database and disabling it from there but I’ve not played too much with the backend to know if its really a simple matter of flicking a flag to off on the plugins table.

I’ve also not really been blogging much the last while so hece my confusion when I came back to the admin side of things.

While I’m at it … what the hell does work with 2.5

Of course my first thoughts were of flash the superhero with google crawling all over him. Why … God alone knows but I’ve been drinking red bull again today so thats probably why

If you look through the dev section on Adobe as well you can find the newly ? released spec.

Now this doesn’t mention how useful being able to index a flash site will be. Sure it’ll find links to other pages but a lot of the sites I’ve seen are complete flash sites ? I guess this does open up a world of possibilities for those wanting to do shiny things with their menus.

Will these menus be accessible ? will CTRL+ work for the visually impared … will screen readers be able to read the menus hmm.. not so sure about that just yet but maybe with time we’ll see some interesting changes to websites ?

2: New York really changed my views of America .. maybe it was the people … maybe it was the apple store either way its a place I’d recommend to anyone to visit at least once

3: Moving house is HELL!!!! get a professional van hire crowd if possible it’ll save you in the long run. I’ve never had that much stuff to move in the past but this is just crazy.

4: O2 Broadband is actually quite cool … its not let me down too much so far … the odd drop off and a few strange happenings on the Mac but apart from that I’d give it a 7 / 10 … why not more … rates you get vary … a few glitches with the mac software .. but support on the phone was damn quick so I’d definitely recommend them

5: Dublin is quite a nice place … but maybe give me time … its my first time really living away from Galway … (apart from a month in france last year to get married and a few months in limerick before)

6: New years resolutions really don’t work … I’m still on the red bull and the coffee. I really think red bull / energy drinks should be banned.

7: Don’t let things get on top of you … don’t put off till tomorrow what you can get done today .. it’ll just end up piling up and making you stressed out.

8: Sometimes what you really need is a clean break from people you’ve worked with. I know its what I needed and so far it feels great.

9: Moving over to a Mac gradually doesn’t really work … just dive right in .. it’ll only really take you a day or two to get used to it … its also probably quicker to ask other people for advice on it all … they’ve probably gone through the same thing and time is precious.

10: I’ve a few pretty cool projects coming up … I just hope I’ve the time to get properly involved in them (These are non work related projects)

Might be of use to someone …

Two of my hosting companies don’t seem to play well when sending mails to each other and I’m lost as to where the mails are disappearing to. On the plus side now that I know its happening I can start to figure out where its going wrong. In the mean time I’ve changed my notification address on here so hopefully it won’t affect me that much.

[On the negative side junk filters aren't showing up anything unusual and are catching the usual amount of junk email]

and while editing my profile on the irish webmaster forum I saw the link for rss feed for your site. I thought what the hell added it in .. and realised its been a while since I updated my blog here … its fizzled out in the last while so its time for a new beginning (once again)
