RTE gets with the times ?

Is it just me or has RTE gotten with the times ?

They’ve a new show called Raw (recommended to VA) and its online good grief. Maybe I just don’t follow enough TV but I find this quite cool that they are doing it.

(I’m not sure if its working perfectly however .. seems to cut out / stall every so often … still free is free)

well they don’t get any pats on the back from me for using ‘real player’.

no .. that is annoying .. but still its a step forward. I’m not sure what type of DRM stuff they are including in it. It would appear to be downloadable ? though it seems to download realtime give or take.

I didn’t get any further with it VA was impatient and just wanted to watch it there and then. From the sounds of it its quite a good show.

Real player is the worst software ever for online stuff. I really don’t understand why they would offer it like this?

You’d prefer some windows file format ?

At least the real player stuff will work on most machines ?

Sky and E4D don’t .. at least they didn’t and also wouldn’t work on Mac machines (VM with XP solved that issue) :D

I’d say a flash player would be more accessible than a ‘real audio’ player.
